SoulGroovers with Sarah Tannian is our brand new dance class for men and women 65+, created especially for those who want to rediscover the sheer pleasure of moving to music. Whether you've danced all your life or haven't taken a step on the dancefloor in years, this is your space to shake it, smile and feel wonderful.

Each class blends fun, feel-good movement with a warm and welcoming atmosphere - perfect for boosting energy, lifting your mood and connecting with a brilliant group of like-minded people. No experience needed. No pressure. Just great music, great company and a whole lot of soul.

Class Time: Thursdays, 3pm-3:45pm

What to Bring: Some comfy footwear and some water.

Price: €60 for the term, €12 drop-in rate.

Please Note: Minimum numbers are required for this class to take place. Please ensure that you are cleared by your doctor to attend this class.

A little about Sarah:

Sarah Tannian is a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer from Galway. Sarah has much experience in the dance community within Ireland and the UK. Sarah has earned her degree from one of the UK’s top dance colleges, Addict Dance Academy where she trained professionally for 3 years. Prior to this she trained in dance at Tramore Road Campus, Cork for 2 years where she won ‘Dancer of the Year 2022’.

While still in school, Sarah won the ‘Rising Star’ Gums award for her TY production of Fame JR and danced live on TG4 for their 20th anniversary concert in 2016.

Growing up Sarah was involved in multiple Renmore Pantomime productions as a dancer and dance captain for 4 years and assistant choreographer for 1 year.

Sarah has opened up a brand new dance school Sarah Gail Dance Studios (@sgdancestudios on instagram ) where she aims to teach multiple styles of dance at a high standard for all to enjoy.

What is included in this class?
Each 1 hour class will include the following important fitness elements for your body:
1. Mobility and flexibility exercises to assist in the preservation and restoration of your range of motion in your muscles and joints
2. Strength exercises - with light weights and/or bodyweight – resistance training helps to prevent osteoporosis and reduce sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) and can have a significant impact on the maintenance of independence in old age
3. Balance and co-ordination exercises to prevent and/or postpone age-associated decline
4. Cardiovascular exercises – to strengthen your heart and lungs and improve cardiovascular endurance
5. Breathing exercises – to improve lung function and to relax your body and mind
6. My class also offers you the opportunity to socialise and have fun with others.

2. Enhances sleep quality and quantity
3. Promotes relaxation
4. Reduces stress and anxiety and enhances mood
