“Where do I start?” is often the question I am asked when it comes to exercising and recovery after childbirth. No problem - I can show you and work with you to get the most out of your available time to exercise. The result? Renewed strength and energy for family life and help with feeling great in your body again.
My post-natal class includes:
1. Strength exercises focus on the areas of your body which have been weakened through your pregnancy and labour and on the muscles that need to be strong for feeding and carrying your baby and baby equipment.
2. Specific focus is given to strengthening your abdominal, pelvic floor and overall core area.
3. Mobility and flexibility exercises to correct any posture and strength imbalances.
4. A gradual increase in the complexity and intensity of exercise.
5. Nutritional information for more energy, healing, to improve your general sense of wellbeing and for weight loss and maintenance.
6. A chance to socialise and have fun with other mums and babies.
7. Handouts and discussions on other areas of postnatal wellbeing including nutrition, sleep/rest, motivation to exercise tips and self-care.
