Postpartum Preparation workshop – have you considered a plan for YOUR recovery in the fourth trimester?
A Postnatal Preparation Workshop for Expectant Mothers - Led by Laragh Cunningham (Trained Doula and Postnatal Doula, Senior Yoga Teacher) and Sarah Thornton (Personal Trainer specialising in Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise)
Many women prepare carefully for pregnancy, birth and caring for their newborn, yet the time after birth for the mother often receives far less attention. The weeks and months following your baby’s arrival are a tender and transformative period for you as you take on your new role as mother, and this time deserves just as much care and preparation.
Whether this is your first or subsequent pregnancy the fourth trimester deserves consideration and planning , it is about more than just physical recovery. It is a time of matrescence - the physical, emotional and hormonal transition into any stage of motherhood is marked by change, vulnerability and growth. As mothers of six children between them, Laragh and Sarah understand this shift and they bring both professional expertise and lived experience to support women through this important life stage.
Traditionally, mothers were supported by family and community while they recovered and cared for their baby. In modern life, this support is often missing. This workshop creates space to reflect on what you may need after birth and to put practical supports in place in advance.
