About Meditation in Nature/Forest Bathing:
Immerse your senses in nature and find ways to gently soothe yourself and your nervous system in the healing balm of the forest. Offer yourself some green therapy and learn the benefits of slowing down and connecting yourself in nature. You will be guided through meditations, invitations and suggestions of ways to connect with nature. This experience is based on Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku which essentially means to bathe the senses in nature.

Your guide is Maeve Tonge, a meditation teacher and a certified forest bathing guide, and she will be so happy to share this wonderful practice with you. She will introduce the science and research briefly to you and then bring you into the immersive practice of forest bathing. She has guided acute hospital staff and members of the wider community in Forest Bathing.

This workshop will take place in Rusheen Woods on the Barna Road.

A little about your guide:
Maeve is a long time nature lover and feels her best when she is in fresh air and a natural environment. She has many loves including her two beautiful girls, ever supportive partner, creating art, hill walking, sea swimming, yoga and meditation. These general wellbeing practices help sooth, support and nourish her mind, body and soul. Maeve has worked in acute health care for over 20 years supporting families and individuals navigate difficult times so is conscious of all we can do to proactively support our wellness in all areas of mental, physical and spiritual health. To compliment her meditation offerings, Maeve trained as a Forest Bathing Guide with Nadur, Centre for Integrative Forest Therapy. The inherent wisdom of these two approaches provide a means to enhance her opportunities to slow down and truly savour this precious life. Maeve is looking forward to sharing the insights and golden nuggets learned along the way.
